Gemma Jones

With over 26 years’ experience in the events industry, Gemma is passionate about ‘making a difference’ and creating meaningful experiences that deliver real value for clients, attendees, and destinations alike.  From intimate gatherings of 50 to large-scale events of 5000, Gemma brings a solutions-driven approach to every project, understanding the unique challenges associations face and delivering tailored, impactful results. As the recently appointed Business Development Director at MICE Concierge, Gemma is leveraging her background in venue operations and sales to collaborate with clients on support products and services that enhance operational efficiency, improve delegate experiences, streamline data management, and ensure GDPR compliance.

Previously, part of the launch team at ICC Wales, Gemma was Association Sales Manager during the venue’s construction phase in 2018, through to July 2025, building relationships with key association clients and securing major association events to Wales. Gemma’s career began with a 20-year tenure at the University of South Wales, leading the commercial events team across multiple campuses. In a dual sales and operational role, Gemma delivered everything from academic conferences and scientific meetings to graduation ceremonies, with involvement in the Metropolitan Police operations logistics for the NATO Summit in 2014, with a solid understanding the challenges of operating commercially within an academic venue.  All while cultivating a strong and loyal client base, with established long-term partnerships that are still thriving today.
