Ruchi Sinatamby

Affiliated Associate Professor, Clinical Sub Dean and Consultant Radiologist

Ruchi is a Consultant Radiologist at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) since 1999, specialising in Breast Imaging. She has been Clinical Sub-Dean for CUH since 2011, with responsibility for overseeing all undergraduate medical education at CUH and quality assurance across the Trust. She is an Affiliated Associate Professor at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and Fellow & Director of Studies in Clinical Medicine at Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge (where she was Vice President 2014 – 2019).

Ruchi has a strong involvement in all aspects of medical education and training, for which she has received multiple awards at University, Regional and National levels. In 2016 she was awarded the University of Cambridge Pilkington Prize in recognition of excellence in teaching. She continues to act as an Exam Review Officer for the Cambridge University Office of Student conduct, Complaints and Appeals, adjudicating on student appeals and faculty responses.

In 2017 she was elected the inaugural UK RCR BSBR Professor of Breast Imaging. In 2021, Ruchi was appointed as a Cultural Ambassador for CUH. Ruchi also undertakes many education-related roles for the Royal College of Radiologists, including Vice Chair of the Final FRCR Part B exam board where she is responsible for examiner training & development.

This presentation will share practical tips to optimise on the job training and will help trainers and trainees to make the most of everyday opportunities.
