Professor Duncan Tennent qualified from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1992 and was appointed as a Consultant at St. George’s Hospital, London in 2003. He was appointed as Professor in 2018.
He holds the patent for the Arthroscopic Tightrope technique for ACJ stabilisation and has published widely on this. He also holds the patent for a new arthroscopic anterior grafting guide.
His research interests are focussed on medical education, instability and large rotator cuff tears. He has written over 100 papers, multiple book chapters and a textbook of arthroscopic surgery.
Prof Tennent is an examiner for the FRCS(Orth) and sits on the Bone and Joint journal editorial board.
He is a past Chair of the BESS Education Committee and Treasurer, member and trustee of the British Orthopaedic Association and of the Surgical Advisory Committee,
Professor Tennent lectures both nationally and internationally on shoulder and arthroscopic surgery and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate surgery at St. George’s Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic London.
