Mike Robinson

I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 1997. Shortly after my appointment, I initiated a Specialist Upper Limb Clinic which is now well-established and provides a focal point for the investigation and treatment of upper limb problems in the Lothian area. The Unit has an International reputation for clinical excellence and academic achievement, and patients are often referred from other centres for treatment. I have a particular interest in the treatment of shoulder problems and I regularly perform arthroscopic (keyhole) and open surgery in this area. I also regularly treat other upper limb disorders including conditions affecting the hand, wrist and elbow. My clinical duties at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh also extend to treating patients with fractures and soft-tissue injuries. In my clinic at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital, I am happy to treat patients with upper limb problems and those recovering from fractures and other soft-tissue injuries. My NHS practice is based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
