Stuart Paterson

My current role is Head of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Scottish rugby. I have been involved in professional rugby for over 20 years and have spent time working with all levels of athletes from club rugby to international in both the men’s and women’s game in both Scotland and New Zealand. While in NZ I also worked in multi-sport and private practice helping look after the central region’s Olympic athletes and members of the NZ Military.

Following my undergraduate degree I then completed a Masters in Manipulative and Sports physiotherapy from the university of Otago and most recently a post-graduate in Sports Injury Rehabilitation from Salford University. My day to day role involves oversight of the provision of physiotherapy at Scottish rugby and providing care for the men’s National team during competition phases.

Outside of work I spend most of my time taking my two sons to football and rugby and walking my two-and-a-half-year-old chocolate labrador.
