Chris Smith

Chris is a Shoulder and Elbow surgeon at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital, and has always had a healthy interest in research. This began with the completion of an MSc in orthopaedic engineering and my MD on the biomechanics of the glenoid labrum. He went on to become an NIHR clinical lecturer and has produced over 60 publications on shoulder & elbow pathology. His links with BESS have spanned 20 years and over 50 conference presentations. Although involved in multiple aspects of shoulder & elbow surgery research, he is particularly interested in optimising outcomes in shoulder and elbow arthroplasty.
