Mark Falworth

Mr Mark Falworth. MB BS, FRCS (Eng). FRCS (Orth)Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.

Mr Falworth was appointed as Consultant Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore in 2006. He provides a significant complex primary and revision service to other orthopaedic surgeons throughout the UK and has research interests in shoulder and elbow arthroplasty and prosthetic joint injection. He regularly lectures in the UK and abroad, and has published widely, including co-authoring four British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS) Best Practice guidelines, including those for The Management Prosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) and the Provision of Primary and Revision Elbow Replacement Surgery in the NHS. Mr Falworth is on the Executive Organisation Committee for the International Consensus Meeting on PJI, which recently concluded in Istanbul this May. He is also currently the elected Vice President of BESS and previously held the position of Honorary Treasurer between 2017-'22 and was Chair of the Instructional Course Committee between 2022 – ’24. In 2018 he was awarded the prestigious BESS Copeland Fellowship.
