He was appointed as a substantive Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in shoulder & upper limb surgery at Ashford & St. Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Chertsey, Surrey in 2005. He has been instrumental in developing the Upper Limb team at the Rowley Bristow Orthopaedic Unit, which prides itself in delivering a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
He has developed a practice concentrating on complex shoulder and elbow reconstructive surgery, including revision arthroplasty. As a result, he regularly attracts tertiary referrals throughout the region to help colleagues with challenging cases requiring complex arthroscopic reconstruction, tendon transfers around the shoulder, and revision arthroplasty. He is also a founder member and senior advisor at regional upper limb MDT meetings, recognised for his experience and expertise in managing complex upper limb cases.
He is recognised nationally / internationally as a surgical instructor in advanced arthroscopy & arthroplasty, regularly teaching on cadaveric and live surgery courses. He is a regular invited lecturer at national / international level, including masterclasses / instructional courses at ICSES, BOA & BESS annual scientific meetings.
