Rohit Gupta

Mr. Rohit Gupta's undergraduate training took place at Guy's Hospital Medical School, University of London, qualifying in 1993. His post-graduate surgical training was at Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospitals, London. Specialist orthopaedic training was undertaken in the South East Thames region of the NHS, including Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals. Upon completion of his orthopaedic training, he undertook one year of specialist Fellowship training in Shoulder / Upper Limb Surgery and Sports Medicine / Arthroscopic Surgery in Perth, Western Australia in 2003-4. 

He was appointed as a substantive Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in shoulder & upper limb surgery at Ashford & St. Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Chertsey, Surrey in 2005. He has been instrumental in developing the Upper Limb team at the Rowley Bristow Orthopaedic Unit, which prides itself in delivering a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.

He has developed a practice concentrating on complex shoulder and elbow reconstructive surgery, including revision arthroplasty. As a result, he regularly attracts tertiary referrals throughout the region to help colleagues with challenging cases requiring complex arthroscopic reconstruction, tendon transfers around the shoulder, and revision arthroplasty. He is also a founder member and senior advisor at regional upper limb MDT meetings, recognised for his experience and expertise in managing complex upper limb cases.

He is recognised nationally / internationally as a surgical instructor in advanced arthroscopy & arthroplasty, regularly teaching on cadaveric and live surgery courses. He is a regular invited lecturer at national / international level, including masterclasses / instructional courses at ICSES, BOA & BESS annual scientific meetings.
