Emily F. Conant MD is a professor of Radiology, Division of Breast Imaging and the Vice Chair of Faculty Development in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine. She is an internationally known clinician and researcher in the field of Breast Imaging, publishing over 220 peer-reviewed articles on topics ranging from novel breast imaging technologies, disparities in the access to imaging, the importance of “local culture” in mentoring and work-life integration. Her breast imaging research has focused on imaging techniques such as digital breast tomosynthesis, abbreviated breast MRI and the quantitative analysis of multi-modality breast images to guide tailored, personalized screening. Her publications have appearing in high impact journals such as JAMA and NEJM and she has been the Principle Investigator on numerous federally and privately funded research grants. She is a past President of the Society of Breast Imaging and has consistently been listed in “Who’s Who in American Doctors” and “America’s Top Doctors for Cancer”. Title: Artificial Intelligence in Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) Screening
The presentation will discuss the use of artificial intelligence and other quantitative algorithms to improve both lesion detection and risk assessment in breast cancer screening with digital breast tomosynthesis.
Title: Abbreviated Breast MRI for Supplemental Screening: The why and how of clinical implementation
This presentation will discuss various tips for implementation and the early outcomes of supplemental screening of women with dense breasts but otherwise average risk with an abbreviated breast MR protocol.
