Kirsty Dare

I have been working in Quality Assurance for many years, initially in the pharmaceutical industry in both pharmaceutical development and clinical research. In my last position before moving across to screening quality assurance within Public Health England, I was responsible for the quality system and for the quality assurance activities within a Phase 1 clinical research organisation. I applied for and maintained the Phase 1 accreditation for the unit and hosted many regulatory inspections undertaken by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

I have now been working in screening quality assurance for almost 9 years, in senior roles within breast screening QA and also some time working on strategic development of QA processes for all screening programmes. During this time I have gained my Masters in Public Health awarded by Nottingham University and have passed the Rosalind Franklin leadership programme within NHS England.

I am particularly interested in quality system development and process improvement. I have experience of many techniques to support this including Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), process mapping, fishbone analysis among others.

I now work within the breast portfolio national team within NHS England as a Breast Quality Improvement Lead. I provide operational leadership and management of a team responsible for delivering a consistent quality assurance and improvement function across the portfolio.  This includes development of clinical advice and guidance, drawing on specific clinical and professional advice where needed.
