PROSPECTS trial research group.
PROSPECTS is a prospective randomized study of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) in breast cancer screening. The aim of the study is to measure the effectiveness and cost of DBT compared to standard 2D mammography and to learn about implications for screening and diagnostic assessment practice. Recruitment is taking place at 8 Trial Sites in England and the target of 70,000 is due to be reached by end March 2025.
Progress with recruitment and timing of analysis and presentation of results will be discussed. Current and future planned work by trial collaborators including reader eye tracking, evaluation of reading with thick slice tomosynthesis and AI, and economic evaluation will described.
