Mark Harries

Dr Mark Harries is Consultant Medical Oncologist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, and is an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London School of Medicine, London, UK. 

He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK, and completed clinical training at the Royal London Hospital, London, UK. He trained in medical oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and completed a PhD and postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Immunology, University College London, London, UK.

He specialises in the treatment of breast cancer and melanoma, with research interests including the immunology and epidemiology of breast cancer and clinical trials of new biological agents for the treatment of breast cancer and melanoma. He has published many papers and presents regularly at national and international conferences. He is a past oncology editor for the International Journal of Clinical Practice. He is the current chairman of Melanoma Focus –the UK’s main melanoma charity.
