WELCOME TO INTRODUCTION TO INTERNET-MEDIATED RESEARCH

Internet-mediated research (IMR) is “any research involving the remote acquisition of data from or about human participants using the Internet and its associated technologies” (BPS, 2021). With online research becoming increasingly commonplace, it is important that IMR is being done ethically and effectively.

This is an introductory webinar, designed for those starting out with online research. It will provide practical steps and guidance on how to plan and conduct different types of IMR appropriately. This will include reactive approaches (e.g., online surveys, and interviews) and non-reactive approaches (e.g., observations using online data). For those delegates wishing to learn more about non-reactive approaches such as using online data in research, a subsequent webinar will be taking place later in the CPD series.
