GEN Scholarship Application

Applicants must:

      • Be an Active (Surgeon) Member of GEN
      • Reside in a Low or Lower Middle Income Country based on the World Bank Classification 
      • Be current with GEN membership dues for 2026 (GEN will verify membership status before final confirmation)
      • Not have received a GEN Scholarship for the 2025 Miami Conference (next eligible year: 2028)

Recipient Agreement

All scholarship recipients must sign a formal agreement confirming:

      • Acceptance of the scholarship and its terms
      • Commitment to attend the full GEN Lisbon 2026 Conference
      • Appropriate and professional conduct throughout the event
      • Understanding the use of scholarship funds
      • If a recipient is unable to attend the conference for any reason, they must notify GEN immediately and return all disbursed funds within 10 business days of cancellation
      • If a recipient accepts the scholarship but does not attend the conference without notifying GEN in advance, they will be required to return all disbursed funds in full within 10 days of the conference and may be deemed ineligible for future GEN scholarships or programs

This agreement ensures transparency, accountability, and responsible use of GEN resources.
