Hanna Björnsson Hallgren, Swedish upper extremity surgeon and Assistant Professor at the University Hospital of Linköping, Sweden. Educated and trained in Linköping since 2005. PhD in 2012 on subacromial pain and rotator cuff injuries since then special scientific interest in the importance of soft tissue lesions in both the shoulder and elbow.
Supervisor of nine ongoing PhD projects in the field of shoulder and elbow research including pain, dysfunction and trauma related injuries. More than 40 peer- reviewed articles and reviewer for several international Journals.
Part of several international scientific steering committees and the country manager of a Nordic scientific collaborative network performing randomized multicentre trials. Member of the European PJI research group with development of a European register for infected shoulder arthroplasties.
Presenter at national and international meetings since the SECEC meeting in Brugge, Belgium 2008 and 2013 she received the Best national society paper price at the SECEC meeting in Istanbul, Turkey for the work on specific exercises for subacromial pain. Instructor at several international courses on shoulder and elbow surgeries.
Member of SECEC since 2012 and committee member of Global Elbow Network, GEN. Board member of the Swedish shoulder and elbow society since 2016 and the President of the Swedish society since 2025.
