Award Categories

On-time entry fee is €125 and is available for registrations until Friday 23 August 2024.
Late Entry entry fee is €150

Submissions will be considered within the following categories:

A - Built Projects (on the Island of Ireland)
1) Public Park - both urban and rural settings apply
2) Public / Civic Spaces - squares, piazzas
3) Linear Landscapes - including streetscapes, pedestrian precincts, road/rail/river corridors, arterials routes etc 
4) Residential Development - public/private housing developments
5) Gardens - all sizes, residential only
6) Sustainable Landscapes to include NbS, SUDS, Renewables
7) Educational Landscapes
8) Commercial Landscapes
9) Healthcare Landscapes
10) Heritage Landscape - conservation, preservation and restoration projects
11) Active Travel Routes to include but not limited to Blue/Greenways
12) Playspace - of any size that demonstrates excellence in design
13) Planting Design - excellence in the use of planting, may be of any scale

B - Landscape Technical and Theory
1) Landscape Theory, Policy & Management - concepts, reports, imagery 
2) Landscape Planning & Assessment - to include LVIA
3) Master Planning & Urban Design
4) Research Project and Publications 
5) Policies and Initiatives which support Climate Resilience
6) Diane Nickels Memorial Award - hand drawing 

C - Academic (No entry fee required)
1) Student Award - best final year thesis project completed in 2023 or 2024 

D - Other (No entry fee required) - These awards are chosen by the ILI Council and the ILI President respectively
1) Award for Outstanding Contribution to Landscape Architecture - an ILI Council nomination in recognition of the contribution for an individual, group or body that has contributed to the profession and reached the highest standard of achievement over a prolonged period
2) President's Award - selected by the President for the overall winner of the ILI Awards 2024
