Language World is the annual conference and training event of the Association for Language Learning. It is a highlight of the year for Language teachers and attracts hundreds of participants each day from across all sectors.

The theme of Language World 2023 is “What we value - past, present and future treasure”.

We are living through changing times and are all keen to reflect on how we can inspire learners and teach languages as effectively as possible. How we can work towards sustained achievement and motivation is a focus for discussion, as innovative and exciting practice becomes accessible from around the world, and sharing has become so much easier.

Our understanding of how the brain affects learning has also increased but there is always more to learn, which can inform classroom practice and curriculum design. Delegates will have the opportunity to look together at key areas relevant to their context.

We invite teachers, teacher educators, and researchers to join us in sharing ideas and best practice on how to build on current good practice. The potential of and challenges of studying languages in the 21st century will be explored. The provision of rich, effective and creative contexts for learning for the future for all is what we all value and treasure. Whatever your teaching experience, please do consider submitting a proposal. Submissions are welcome from educators who are starting out on their career to those with many years of experience.
