Eddie Gibson is the current Chair of the British Society of Breast Radiology. Originally from Fermanagh, he graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 2001. He completed his Radiology Training in N Ireland before undertaking a fellowship in New Zealand with Breast Screen Aotearoa. Dr Gibson was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Breast Imaging at Antrim Area Hospital in 2009.  In 2013 the Very High Risk Screening Programme was established at Antrim Area Hospital providing annual surveillance imaging (MRI & Digital Mammography) for women living in N Ireland with a Very High risk of developing breast cancer. Dr Gibson helped establish this programme and manages the day to day running of it as the Clinical Lead since 2013. Eddie was the regional Radiology Quality Assurance Lead for the NI Breast Screening Programme 2014 – 2020. Since 2020 Eddie has been Radiology Clinical Director for the Northern Trust.
