Dr Simon Vincent

Breast Cancer Now

Simon Vincent has a background in cancer research, including as a post-doc at the former Imperial Cancer Research Fund laboratories in London. In 2000 he joined the Cancer Research Campaign, and lived through the merger with the ICRF to form Cancer Research UK. His work there included leading the team that looked after the charity's fellowship funding. He spent a year at the Academy of Medical Sciences, where his team supported early-career biomedical researchers through mentoring, career support, policy development and by awarding grants. In 2014, Simon joined the research team at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, before going through another charity merger to form Breast Cancer Now, where he become Director of Research. In 2019 he led the research team as the charity went through a further merger, with Breast Cancer Care. Simon is now Director of Research, Support and Influencing for Breast Cancer Now. He is responsible for the charity’s research portfolio, its support services for cancer patients, its nurse-led helpline, its policy and campaigning work, and its public health work. Simon has been involved with the UKIBCS since it was established in 2018, and was on the organising committee for 2020, 2022 and 2024 meetings.
