Applying behavioural science to public health policy and practice: we can do so much more!
Dr Tim Chadborn will share his perspectives of the current and future role of a transdisciplinary approach to behavioural science in public health policy and practice. This spans topics from CVD to CDH (commercial determinants of health), from public to clinician behaviour change, from RCTs and DCEs to innovative evidence synthesis methods, and from simplicity to complexity. He will describe the types of behavioural science work that is done in public health organisations from policy advice to research. He will talk about the development of infrastructure such as organisations, funding and partnerships that are so valuable for behavioural science to have an impact and the types of research that policymakers find most useful. He’ll cover some of his areas of interest and opportunities for research and evaluation. He’ll do his best not to talk too much and leave plenty of time for discussion!
