To ensure the Symposium is compliant with the ABPI Code of Practice, access to some areas of the Symposium will be restricted for some attendees.
Non-HCP / Non-ORDMs will have access to all parts of the programme and all areas of the Symposium, with the following exceptions:
- access to the main commercial exhibition space. Charity stands and Partner stands will be located outside of the restricted area
- access to the Sponsored Industry Symposia
Permissions will be identified via different coloured lanyards. Catering will be served separately for those who are not permitted to enter the exhibition area.
What is a HCP?
Healthcare professionals (HCPs) are defined as 'members of the medical, dental, pharmacy and nursing professions and any other persons who in the course of their professional activities may administer, prescribe, purchase, recommend or supply a medicine.'
What is an ORDM?
The term 'other relevant decision maker' (ORDM) particularly includes those with an NHS role who could influence in any way the administration, consumption, prescription, purchase, recommendation, sale, supply or use of any medicine but who are not health professionals.
