Title: Why the Human Connection still matters in Breast Imaging Education
The greatest influence on career choice is rarely an online resource—it is the people trainees meet along the way. While AI and remote learning have transformed how we acquire knowledge, they cannot replace the human connection that inspires someone to choose a specialty. Face-to-face teaching allows trainees to experience enthusiasm, mentorship, belonging and professional identity in ways that digital education cannot. It challenges misconceptions about breast imaging by exposing learners to its intellectual complexity, technical expertise, multidisciplinary teamwork and meaningful patient relationships. If we want to recruit the next generation of breast imagers, we must remember that knowledge informs career decisions, but human connection inspires them.
