Dr Stephen Harden is a consultant in cardiothoracic radiology at University Hospital Southampton, UK, and is the President of The Royal College of Radiologists.
As RCR President, he leads the organisation which represents Clinical Radiologists and Clinical Oncologists in all four nations of the United Kingdom. The RCR’s role is to advocate for and speak on behalf of the professions to government and stakeholders, to provide and supervise education and postgraduate exams and to set professional standards. Much of the work of the RCR involves raising the profile and increasing the visibility diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology and cancer care.
Previously, Stephen was the RCR Clinical Radiology Vice-President and the RCR Medical Director for Education and Training in Clinical Radiology. He has chaired the RCR Clinical Radiology Professional Learning and Development sub-committee and been an FRCR examiner, and is the former President of the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging.
