WELCOME TO THE DFP CONFERENCE

Forensic psychology has a hugely important contribution to the wider communities especially given the challenging climates we find ourselves in. The global pandemic has impacted on many parts of society, including mental health difficulties, rising rates of interpersonal offending, and challenging environments.

Therefore to ensure we continue to highlight and showcase the amazing work we all contribute to - the Division of Forensic Psychology (DFP) annual conference 2021 is going online!

ABOUT THIS EVENT

We know how tiring all these online events can be, so we are going to split our conference across four afternoons. There will be two afternoons in June 2021 and two afternoons in November 2021.

The DFP annual conference will be much the same as our usual conference with leading psychologists and expert speakers who will be hosting a series of webinars. We shall be opening submissions from our psychology field to present their research projects and reviews, and we shall also be running our usual poster presentation section.

*Hot off the press* There will be a new conference app which will mean you can chat with other psychologists and build your network, along with managing which webinars you wish to join with during the online conference programme!

We are looking to have an overarching focus of ‘adversity and diversity’

Therefore, we considered the following themes for the afternoons:

·         Tuesday 15th June - 12.30-18.00: Trauma and compassion

·         Wednesday 16th June - 12.30-18.00: Diversity and inclusion

·         Tuesday 9th November - 12.30-18.00: Poverty (a key BPS focus)

·         Wednesday 10th November - 12.30-18.00: Health and well being

There is also be a General theme across all conference dates for other forensic psychology research and practice.

Come and join us for these exciting afternoons! More information to follow on our invited speakers… however get your submissions into us – we cannot wait to hear about what you have been working on.
