SPEAKERS

Professor Madelynne Arden 

Madelynne Arden is Professor of Health Psychology and Director of the Centre for Behavioural Science and Applied Psychology (CeBSAP) at Sheffield Hallam University.  She is a Chartered Psychologist, a full member of the DHP, and a Registered Health Psychologist (HCPC). Maddy is co-editor of the British Journal of Health Psychology. Her research focuses on using theory and evidence to develop and evaluate behaviour change interventions across a range of health domains including physical activity, smoking, alcohol use, and adherence to medication. She is director of the Behavioural Science Consortium which provides expertise to government on the application of behavioural science to public policy issues. She sits on numerous regional and national committees and groups including the Yorkshire and Humber Public Health Research Hub and the BPS COVID Disease Prevention and Behavioural Science Taskforce.   Her research has received over £3 million in funding from sources including NIHR, Public Health England, Public Health Wales, and the Wellcome Trust.


Professor Victoria Tischler

Associate Professor in Public Health, Sustainability and Environment, University of Exeter. 

Professor Tischler is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She has a PhD in psychology from the University of Nottingham where she worked for 12 years. She retains an honorary position at the University of Nottingham Medical School. Her research interests focus on creativity and mental health and multisensory approaches to dementia care. She is co-executive editor of the journal Arts and Health: an international journal for research, policy and practice. She serves on the scientific advisory board for Boots UK archive.
