Dear Colleagues,

In the wake of the COVID-19 a global pandemic, the Council of the European Association of Fish Pathologists (EAFP) in close consultation with the Local Organising Committee and the Scientific Program Committee, has made the very difficult decision to move to a virtual, completely online Conference, replacing the 2021 Conference planned for August in Aberdeen.

Our main concern is the health of everyone involved. As the pandemic continues to affect all of our lives, including various travel restrictions, we have taken this step to minimise the risk to us all during this period of uncertainty.

Of course this is not the scenario any of us wanted when we started planning the Conference almost three years ago, we were very much looking forward to welcoming you to the UK and of course to our fantastic City of Aberdeen and beautiful country of Scotland. We have rescheduled Aberdeen as our Conference destination in 2023 and hope to see you then.

Conference details

The Conference will now run online from Monday 20 September until Thursday 23 September, the full program will include scientific keynote speeches, oral presentations, dedicated poster sessions, workshops and roundtables.

We are inviting Abstracts for both oral and poster presentations which will be subject to peer-review, the deadline for submission is Friday 14 May 2021 and the portal is now open. In addition, there will be several workshops on a range of subjects of interest to fish and shellfish pathologists.

Guidelines will be sent to all presenters and we have a team of experts on hand to help you through the virtual process.

Attendees can ask live questions and also give offline feedback. We have presenter, networking, posters, live Q & A and live polling platforms. You have the ability to choose a personalised agenda from concurrent sessions, you will be able to switch between presenters with a simple click of your mouse.

The official language of the conference is English.

Thank you to everyone for their continued support and understanding during these uncertain times. We wish you all the very best and we very much look forward to seeing you in 2021, albeit virtually.
