Vikki Jervis

Principal Educational Psychologist
Head of Service for Accessible City in Bristol

Dr. Vikki Jervis is Principal Educational Psychologist and Head of Service for Accessible City in Bristol. She heads up the Educational Psychology Service, Autism Team, Statutory SEN assessment and Review Teams and the Sensory Support Service. Vikki has 12 years’ experience working as a Senior Educational Psychologist and is in her sixth year as PEP.

Vikki has a keen interest in leadership and has recently authored a chapter in Leadership for Educational Psychologists Principle and Practicalities (2020). She is committed to the development of evidence informed leadership and strengthening the profession for the future. Vikki is passionate about applying psychology to create positive change for children, young people, families and communities.

'Leadership Journeys: A developmental framework from TEP to PEP'

In this session we will reflect on our own leadership journeys. We will also consider the building blocks that will assist colleagues develop from TEP to PEP through a series of questions:

  • What combination of skills and knowledge do I need for leadership?
  • How will I use these leadership skills?
  • How am I going to develop these leadership skills

Liz Robinson

Principal EP in Portsmouth and current Chair of NAPEP

'PEP leadership and the development of a new neurodiversity pathway in Portsmouth'

In Portsmouth we have committed to moving from an Autism Assessment Pathway, with a focus on diagnosis, to a needs led approach to understanding and supporting neurodiversity. This workshop will outline the approach, the contribution from a range of agencies and  explore the ways in which  PEP and EP Service involvement has been able to shape and influence the project.



Melissa Jones

Senior Educational Psychologist, Solihull MBC

Melissa has been practicing as an Educational Psychologist for 18 years working in a range of Local Authorities. Currently she is the strategic lead for challenging behaviour and the team’s community diversion work which includes the formation of the High Needs SEMH team and the joint CEPS/YOS Youth Endowment Project. Melissa is currently resident in Birmingham but is planning her escape to the country.



Dr. Halit Hulusi

Principal Educational Psychologist, Solihull MBC

Halit has been a practicing as an Educational Psychologist for 23 years and joined Solihull from Birmingham EPS in April 2018 to set up a new Local Authority retained EP team.   Halit is also an Academic and Professional Tutor at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic for the Child, community and educational psychology doctorate.
