Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children's Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 330,000 patients and families we care for every year. Since 2013, over £65m has been raised for a range of life-saving medical equipment and facilities that are making a real difference to families every day - but we still need your support.

The Amy Laura Fund was established by Steve and Janine Bolton following their daughter Amy being diagnosed with cancer aged 12 in September 2002.  She was successfully treated with surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy at Alder Hey Children’s hospital.  As you can imagine it was a very emotional and extremely tough time for Amy, her family and her friends. In June 2003, her treatment finally came to an end and moving forwards 19 years, Amy is now a healthy, very active young lady and is living life to the full.

As a thank you to Dr. Pizer and all his wonderful staff, Steve and  Janine started fund raising for the new ward which was getting built at this time.  The Amy Laura Fund is still going strong has to date has raised over £200,000 for the Children’s Oncology Unit, research activities and Educational events. The family are just in the process of organising another dinner dance which we will hold in November 2022.

TEAM REECE’S OBJECTIVES ARE TO

To provide a Static Caravan on an inclusive site for the use of families directly affected by Childhood Cancer to use for respite and family time.

To provide research funding to enable better treatment options and potential cures for childhood cancer, brain tumours and help fund new equipment and clinical trials for children where promise is shown but NHS funding is unavailable.

To provide support in schools (assemblies and class to educate peers on cancer treatments and effects), and equipment for educational support for children undergoing treatment for cancer, either directly or to the child’s school.

To provide days out for children with cancer, their siblings and their friends.
