Ingunn Holen is Professor of Bone Oncology and leads the Section of Cancer Biology and Therapeutics in the Division of Clinical Medicine, University of Sheffield. Prof Holen has more than 25 years’ experience in working in advanced breast cancer, in particular in the context of translational studies of bone metastasis and therapeutics. She has published 130+ scientific papers with more than 10,000 citations and is a frequent keynote speaker at international scientific conferences. Prof Holen is a trustee of Breast Cancer Now and has chaired the BCN Scientific Advisory Board and been a member of the Science Strategy Committee. She has chaired the British Association of Cancer Research and served on the NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship panel, as well as a number of international grant and research institute review panels, editorial boards of scientific journals and conference organising committees. Prof Holen has a keen interest in mentoring junior investigators, in particular in how to establish productive collaborations with clinical colleagues.
