The BASES Outreach Project Team, which aims to increase public engagement and awareness of BASES, has planned a public talk, open to any interested parties, which will take place during the BASES 2024 Conference at the CBS Arena, Coventry. This free, public session, Applied psychology in elite sport 101 – live examples from sport psychology delivery in elite sport through UK Sports Institute (UKSI) will take place from 6 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday 20 November 2024.
The session will be presented by Dr Andy Hill, Senior Sport Psychologist and Technical Lead at the UK Sports Institute.
Andy has a wealth of experience working in high performance sport, supporting Olympic, Paralympic and World Champions across the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Games. Andy also has over a decade of experience in professional football, including The FA as part of the England Women’s setup. In 2016, Andy completed his PhD in the psychology of talent development, exploring how we can develop the skills required to perform at the highest level.
This public talk will include an example sport psychology delivery model and case studies providing examples of how coaches could integrate sport psychology, how an athlete can use a sport psychologist and what sport psychology can assist with generally.
This free, public session is taking place in person at the CBS Arena, Coventry. For those not able to physically attend, there is an option to watch the session via Teams.
