Andrew Wright

Andy was appointed as a Specialist Elbow Surgeon to Wrightington hospital in January 2020 & recently finished his tenure as Clinical Director for Trauma at the Trust. He is a Fellowship trained Specialist Elbow and Shoulder surgeon who commenced his consultant career at Salford Royal, a Major Trauma centre, in 2019. During his training he was awarded a first-class honours degree in Medical Science from St Andrews University before completing his training at the University of Manchester. His Specialist Orthopaedic training rotation was throughout Northwest England before culminating in Fellowships at Wrightington and Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa.

Andy is passionate about his tertiary referral elbow practice. This encompasses all aspects of complex trauma, arthroscopy as well as primary and revision elbow arthroplasty. He is a course convenor of Wrightington cadaveric Elbow & Shoulder course & is regularly invited to contribute to international elbow trauma courses.
