Following the success of the video techniques session introduced in 2025, we are pleased to offer this format again as part of the scientific programme in Newcastle 2026. This session will once more replace a free papers segment within the meeting, providing a platform for delegates to present novel surgical or therapy techniques used in their clinical practice. The technique does not need to be revolutionary, but it should be unique in some way and supported by clinical results that can be presented alongside a video submission outlining the technique. Where appropriate, this forum may also help further develop and disseminate your technique through research funding and support from BESS.

Submissions under this section of the abstract system will be reviewed by members of the Research Committee and Education Committee. If selected, you will be invited to submit a 3-minute narrated video incorporating the technique and data to report early results. Time will also be allocated for questions and discussion.
