Bio
Dr Adam Jowett is an Associate Head of the School of Psychological, Social & Behavioural Sciences at Coventry University and a Trustee of the British Psychological Society. He has been an active member of the BPS Psychology of Sexualities Section since he was a student when he won the Section's undergraduate prize for his dissertation. He is now Chair of the Psychology of Sexualities Section and represents the BPS within the International Psychology Network for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Issues. He has also previously served as Editor of Psychology of Sexualities Review and as an Associate Editor of the journal Psychology & Sexuality. His research interests focus on LGBT+ issues and he has published on a range of topics including LGBT health, civil partnership and same-sex marriage. Dr Jowett has most recently been leading research commissioned by the Government Equalities Office on conversion therapy.
