INTERDISCIPLINARY BEHAVIOURAL MEDICINE:
SYSTEMS, NETWORKS & INTERVENTIONS
16th International Congress of Behavioural Medicine (ICBM)
7th - 11th JUNE 2021, VIRTUAL CONFERENCE
This congress would not have been possible had it not been for the hard work of both the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Scientific Organising Committee (SPC).
The LOC are primarily based from Glasgow which was originally planned as the host city for ICBM 2020 prior to our move to a virtual event. With this in mind, we wanted to share a flavour of the city with you.
Glasgow has been voted the world’s friendliest city
and is renowned for its culture and style. It offers a blend of internationally
acclaimed museums and galleries, stunning Victorian architecture, vibrant
nightlife, fantastic shopping, a diverse array of restaurants and bars and it
is on the doorstep of some of the world’s most beautiful scenery.
Glasgow is Scotland’s cultural powerhouse, ranked
by the Mercer Cost of Living Survey as one of Europe’s most cost effective
cities and the first in the UK to be included in the Global Destination
Sustainability Index. With Loch Lomond just 40 mins away, it's the perfect
starting point for delegates to discover what Scotland has to offer.
Glasgow has the largest academic community in he UK
outside of London, hosting world leading research in life sciences,
engineering, science and technology.
Glasgow offers an ideal location for meetings in
the field of medical research. It is home to the largest medical
physics research division in the world, Europe’s largest hospital (the Queen
Elizabeth University Hospital) and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre
(BWoSCC), the UK’s most advanced NHS cancer centre.
Obviously we can't get you out to see the sights
and sounds of this beautiful city, however Glasgow Convention Bureau have
provided some fantastic virtual tours and whilst they don't replace the being there
in the flesh, they do give you some great insight to the city. We are
proud to have such a great convention bureau showcasing the best the city has
to offer.
