What you need to know

  1. How do I submit an abstract?
    Abstracts must be submitted via the abstract website by the deadline, and submitters can designate which type of presentation the abstract should be considered for. There is no fee to submit an abstract. Abstracts that have been published or presented elsewhere prior to the time of presentation at the ICBM-2020 may not be submitted for consideration by ICBM. 

  2. Who is eligible to submit an abstract and who can attend the ICBM-2020?
    ICBM-2020 welcomes abstract submissions from both members and non-members. UKSBM members receive a discounted registration rate but non-member attendees are welcome to attend.

  3. When can I submit an abstract?
    The online abstract submission website opens between 11th July 2019 and remains open until 9th December 2019. Abstracts will be reviewed after the submission deadline and submitters of accepted abstracts will be notified in March 2020 .

  4. When and where can I register?
    Registration for the congress is now open, please click here for further information. The early bird registration fees remain in effect from the time registration opens until 1st May 2020. Past the early bird deadline, the registration fees will increase so make sure to register before the early bird deadline!   

  5. What is included in my registration fee and what is extra?
    The basic Congress registration fee includes admittance to the Poster Hall, all oral sessions and meetings, lunches and Opening Drinks Reception.  Gala Dinner tickets and pre-conference workshops are available for purchase and can be purchased via the registration form.   6. Is the research presented at the Congress published?
    Abstracts of posters, papers, symposia and seminars presented at the Congress will be peer reviewed and published in the International Journal of Behavioral Medicine. All abstracts will also be available on the Congress mobile app.

  7. How will I know what sessions to attend?
    The preliminary programme is published on the ICBM-2020 website -  www.icbm2020-glasgow.co.uk, providing the programme schedule and other Congress information. ICBM also categorizes its sessions into several different content areas, relevant to many different behavioural medicine specialties. The final programme will provide a key to help attendees easily find sessions within these content areas. The final programme becomes available online, and via the app, on 1st August 2020  and will also be provided to all registered attendees upon checking in at the registration desk at the Congress.

  8. Does ICBM-2020 provide any awards or discounts of any kind?
    ICBM-2020 offers several awards in order to recognize outstanding achievement and contribution to the field of behavioural medicine, which are presented at the Congress. 

  9. What is the Congress cancellation policy?
    Any registration cancellations must be due to professional and/or personal/family health emergencies and may be made in writing to icbm@kc-jones.co.uk with the subject line to read “Cancellation ICBM 2020”, followed by the booking reference.  Cancellations must be received no later than 30 working days prior to the Congress. All cancellations are subject to a non-refundable £50  administrative fee. Refunds will be processed following the Congress. Any accommodation booked either from the Congress website or via the Convention Bureau is subject to their terms and conditions. 

  10. How can I support the Congress?

  11. How do I make reservations at the Congress hotel?
    ICBM secures a block of rooms at the hotels nearby the venue (SEC – Scottish Event Campus) with a special group rate for ICBM-2020 attendees. You can reserve a hotel room via the website, further details will follow soon.

  12. I will be unable to attend the entire Congress. Do I have to pay the full registration?
    ICBM-2020 offers a 1-day registration option for those who can only attend one day of the Congress. One-day attendees will be given a coloured name badge providing access into any non-ticketed session during the specified day.
