Ruairi McGuigan – Contracts Manager

A seasoned Operational Management professional, Ruairi boasts 10 years Operational Management experience within the Environmental Services sector, with a sharp focus on operational efficiency, process management and continuous improvement. Ruairi is our Contracts Manager, with primary responsibility for the day to day operational management of our service delivery across the C936 Contract for Northern Ireland Water.

Ruairi leads our operations management teams, subcontractors and Call Centre functions in the delivery of Wastewater Network & Plant Hire Services across the NIW portfolio and is directly engaged with our public facing team of Drainage Engineers, who collectively attend to approx. 20,000 Sewer Blockages per annum on behalf of Northern Ireland Water. Part and parcel of Ruairi’s role is to ensure adequate resource allocation facilitating a competent, safe and timely response to Northern Ireland Water’s requirements.

Ruairi has been instrumental in the mobilisation of the interface between GeoPal, the McAllister Group Mobile Workforce Management Application of choice, and the NIW Ellipse system, facilitating real time visibility of all activities for our Client. Ruairi continues to work in collaboration with NIW’s Contracts and Operational teams, leading business improvement projects in the interests of increased quality of performance and best in class customer service.


Brendan Rooney – Commercial Manager

Brendan has been an employee of the McAllister Group since 2009. Having graduated from Liverpool John Moore’s’ University in 1998 with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying, prior to joining the McAllister Group he gained a vast array of experience from working as a Quantity Surveyor for a number of Tier 1 Civil Engineering and Building Contractors in both Britain and Ireland, previous Employers include BAM Nutall, SIAC Construction, Laing O’Rourke and Bennett Construction. Experience gained during this period of his career included Tunnelling Works, Pipe Jacking, WwTW Construction, Large diameter Interceptor and Transfer Pipeline installation, Watermain Installation, Motorway Construction, Ground Engineering and Multi-storey Building Construction.

Initially, Brendan preformed the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor with responsibility for the estimating and commercial management of all our Projects across UK and Ireland. Project have varied from Sewer Network Maintenance for Water Authorities and Local Authorities to Large Sewer Rehabilitation Schemes incorporating UV CIPP Ling, Localised Patch Repairs, Robotic Cutting & Lateral Connection Repairs.  Other Key duties performed include the Management of the Bid Submission process for Tenders across the Britain and Ireland, Procurement of Supply Chain and dealing with Contractual Issues. In 2018 Brendan was promoted to the role of Commercial Manager for the Ireland Division of the McAllister Group with responsibility for the Commercial Management of all Contracts within Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Brendan has also been heavily involved in the implementation of our large Framework Contracts with Northern Ireland Water and Irish Water.


Peter Knox – Civil Engineer

Having joined McAllister Group 2 years ago, Peter is responsible for project managing approximately £2.5M of sewer rehabilitation works per year and has helped McAllister Group become a favoured provider of trenchless sewer rehabilitation work on the Island of Ireland. The trenchless works primarily consist of CIPP lining, patch repairs, robotic cutting and CCTV surveys, although Peter has also been heavily involved in recent advances in trenchless rehabilitation including the relining of pressure mains, as McAllister Group look to grow their specialist construction services.

Peter is responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple survey and rehab crews, whilst also working closely with specialist subcontractors to deliver works across the country. It is seen as of utmost importance for Peter that he maintains a good working relationship with not just his clients but also the supply chain which includes material suppliers, plant / equipment hire companies and equipment service specialists.

Previously Peter worked both as a consultant and a client within the wastewater industry helping to develop major sewer rehabilitation programmes with NI Water and Irish Water. He has a real interest in promoting innovation and has worked with clients, consultants and software developers to create a number of processes to assist in the analysis, planning and delivery elements of wastewater asset management schemes.
